DC5 vs DR7: Which Speed Queen Dryer Fits
Both lines are 27-inch dryers with 7 cu. ft. of capacity, and both come in electric and gas versions in white or black. The DC5 keeps the controls simple, with a reversible door, sanitize mode and a drum light. The DR7004WE adds Steam, Pet Plus, a Sanitizing Cycle and Over-Dry Protection Technology, is Energy Star rated, and lists a 7 year warranty in its product title.
The fuel type matters most. Electric models need a 240-volt outlet. Gas models need a gas line and run on 120 volts. Check what your laundry room has before you choose, because the rebate amount is the same for the electric and gas versions of each model, and only the finish changes the amount.

Confirm the fuel type and electrical supply too: gas or electric, 240-volt or 120-volt, and whether a hood can vent outside. A model that does not fit costs far more to fix than any rebate pays back.
