Smeg KSM36XU 36 inch Wall Mount Ventilation Hood with 600 CFM Internal Blower, Dishwasher Safe Grease Filters, in Stainless Steel

Decorative Stainless Steel

SMEG hoods reflect the elegance and the style of the kitchens around them as they combine the quality of their designs with the sturdiness of their materials, all to keep your cooking space cool and clear! Sleek, staid, and just as functional as its more-colorful counterparts!

Cons

• Halogen Lighting

• Internal Blower Can Be Noisy
Internal blowers tend to be louder at higher speeds compared to models with external or remote blowers.
• Recirculation Kit Sold Separately
To use the hood in ductless mode, a charcoal filter kit must be purchased separately.
• No Energy Star Certification
Not Energy Star rated, meaning it may consume more power compared to highly efficient hoods.
• Mixed Spec Listings Online
Some retailer listings show 3 fan speeds instead of 4, so check the specific unit before purchase.

Conclusion

The Smeg KSM36XU is a premium, stylish 36″ wall hood that delivers reliable ventilation for everyday cooking. Its 600 CFM airflow, convertible venting, and easy-to-clean filters make it practical for regular kitchen use. The stainless steel finish and clean lines fit well with modern design trends.

However, trade-offs include halogen lighting, potential noise at high fan speeds, and the need to purchase extra filters for recirculating setups. For those prioritizing quieter operation or energy-efficient LED lighting, alternative models with external blowers or updated lighting may be more suitable.
