Frequently Asked Questions

Q. Why isn’t the water dispenser working or is dispensing slowly?

  • Control panel locked: The dispenser may be locked. Hold the lock button on the display for three seconds to unlock.
  • Clogged or expired filter: A slow flow often means the water filter is clogged and needs replacing. Frigidaire suggests changing the PurePour filter every six months.
  • Frozen water line: If the freezer is set too cold, the water line could freeze. Unplug the refrigerator for a few hours to let it thaw.
  • No water supply: Confirm the fridge is properly connected to the water line and that the shut-off valve is open.

Q. Do I need to change the water filter if I don’t use the dispenser or ice maker?
A. No, if neither the dispenser nor the ice maker is used, replacing the water filter isn’t necessary.

Q. Why isn’t my ice maker producing ice?

  • Ice maker turned off: Make sure the ice maker is on. The LED light on the display should be lit.
  • Freezer temperature too warm: The ice maker won’t work if the freezer is above 10°F (-12°C). Set it to the recommended 0°F (-18°C).
  • Frozen fill tube: Ice in the fill tube can block water flow. Inspect it and clear any ice buildup.
  • Ice jam: Check the bin and auger for stuck cubes. Remove jams, and if ice has melted and refrozen, thaw and empty the bin.

Q. Why isn’t my refrigerator cooling properly?

  • Dirty condenser coils: Dust or dirt on the coils can reduce cooling efficiency. Clean them with a brush or vacuum.
  • Damaged or dirty door seal: A worn or dirty gasket can let warm air in. Clean with warm, soapy water and check for cracks.
  • Too many items inside: Overcrowding can block airflow and cause uneven cooling. Leave space for air circulation.
  • High-temperature alarm: A blinking “HI” means the fridge temperature has been too high for over an hour, often due to a door left open.
  • Malfunctioning temperature sensor: If cleaning the coils and other common fixes still does not resolve the cooling issue, you will have to contact Frigidaire customer support for further help, scheduling a professional to check, replace and fix the device.
