Automatic Shabbos Activation
The Shabbos Keeper is simple to set up on more than 150 GE Appliances French-Door Bottom Freezer, Full-Door Bottom Freezer, and Side by Side refrigerator models.
Once set, it is programmed to automatically enter Enhanced Shabbos Mode 90 minutes before sunset Friday evening (to account for early Shabbos) and then revert back to weekday mode 90 minutes after sunset on Saturday night.
Interior Lighting
Interior lights stay on at reduced brightness during Shabbos Keeper Sabbath Mode.
Automatic defrost
In some older Sabbath modes, the defrost system activates based on compressor run time. This means user input is used when activating the heaters. In Enhanced Sabbath mode, the defrost is set to automatically activate every few hours, with no user input.
Compressor & Cooling Systems
In regular Shabbos modes, sensors detect usage patterns and subsequently activate the cooling features with a 20 second delay. This is not significant in Jewish Law. Enhanced Shabbos mode uses a unique time-controlled system developed by Zman Technologies that completely controls the compressor, damper, fan(s), condenser, cooling valve and evaporator, including all temperature reading.
Door Switches & Sensors
In regular Shabbos mode, door switches and sensors are still being detected by internal computers but told by those computers not to activate during Shabbos. Enhanced Shabbos mode eliminates all electrical flow through door switches and sensors, completely disabling them during Shabbos and preventing any detection by internal computers.
72-Hour Power Backup / Automatic Memory Reset
Shabbos Keeper will store information during a power failure for up to 72 hours, ensuring the proper mode is activated when the power comes back on
