Frequently Asked Questions
Q: What is the STARBBQ-24CHBSSMRRGREXG?
A: It is a 24-inch Santa Maria–style charcoal grill system designed for adjustable-height cooking, featuring a griddle-style cooking surface for versatile outdoor grilling.
Q: What is it used for?
A: It is used for grilling, searing, and flat-top cooking over charcoal or wood in an outdoor BBQ setup.
Q: What type of cooking surface does it include?
A: This model comes with a flat griddle plate, not a traditional sear grate or open grill grate.
Q: What is the griddle used for?
A: The griddle is ideal for cooking foods such as eggs, vegetables, seafood, smash burgers, and other items that require a flat cooking surface.
Q: Can it still be used for searing food?
A: Yes. While it does not create grill marks like a grate, the griddle allows for strong, even searing and browning across the entire surface.
Q: Why choose a griddle instead of a grate?
A: A griddle offers more versatility, prevents small foods from falling through, reduces flare-ups, and provides a uniform cooking surface.
Q: Can the cooking surface be changed or upgraded?
A: Depending on the setup, some STARBBQ systems allow modular swaps, but compatibility depends on the specific frame and accessory configuration.
Q: What fuel does it use?
A: It uses charcoal or wood, depending on the desired heat level and flavor.
Q: Is it suitable for both high-heat and low-and-slow cooking?
A: Yes. The adjustable height system allows for high-heat cooking close to the fire or slower cooking at a higher position.
Q: Who is this grill best for?
A: It is best for users who want a versatile Santa Maria–style grill with a flat-top griddle cooking option for expanded meal variety.
