Cons
-
Manual-Clean Oven: The oven does not have a self-cleaning cycle, so baked-on spills and grease require manual cleaning.
-
No Smart Connectivity: The range uses traditional knob controls and does not offer Wi-Fi, app-based controls, or other connected-appliance features.
-
Limited Low-Heat Range: The lowest cooktop burners are rated at 9,000 BTU, which may provide less flexibility for very delicate simmering compared with ranges equipped with dedicated lower-output simmer burners.
-
Griddle Not Included: A reversible cast-iron griddle is available as an accessory but is not included with the standard range, adding to the cost if griddle cooking is desired.
-
Heavy-Duty Grates Require Maintenance: Continuous cast-iron grates are durable and convenient for moving cookware but are heavy and can require more effort to remove and clean.
-
Professional-Style Design Requires More Cleaning: The six-burner configuration, continuous grates, and large cooking surface can accumulate grease and food debris, requiring regular maintenance.
Conclusion
The THOR Kitchen LRG3601U is a capable 36-inch professional-style gas range that combines six powerful burners, two 18,000 BTU high-output burners, a spacious 6.0 cu. ft. convection oven, an 18,500 BTU bake burner, a 10,000 BTU broiler, and heavy-duty continuous cast-iron grates. While the manual-clean oven, lack of smart features, relatively high 9,000 BTU minimum burner output, optional griddle, and cleaning requirements are drawbacks, its powerful cooktop, generous oven capacity, and straightforward professional-style design make it a strong choice for home cooks who prioritize high-heat gas cooking, cooking capacity, and traditional controls over advanced convenience features.
