Bosch Induction Cooktops: Sizes, Series and Features Compared

A plain guide to Bosch induction cooktops: which sizes fit your counter, what the 500, 800 and Benchmark series add, and how five models compare.

Bosch sells induction cooktops in three widths and three series: 500, 800 and Benchmark. The names can blur together, but the choice comes down to a few clear questions: how wide is your counter opening, how many pans do you cook with at once, and how much smart control do you want.

This guide compares five Bosch induction cooktops we carry, from a compact three-element model to two five-element models, using the specs on each product page.

The short version
  • Sizes here are 24, 30 and 36 inches, with 3, 4 or 5 induction elements.
  • Every model runs on 240 volts; the 36-inch models need a 40-amp circuit and the smaller ones list 30 amps.
  • The 800 Series and Benchmark models add AutoChef and Home Connect; the Benchmark NITP060UC adds FlexInduction and PowerMove.
  • All five are drop-in cooktops, and the 30-inch NITP060UC is listed as able to install over an oven.

  • 800 Series: adds AutoChef and Home Connect
  • Benchmark: adds FlexInduction and PowerMove

Sizing and Power Before You Buy

Measure the counter cutout, not the old cooktop's top glass. The 30-inch models here use a 28 7/8-inch cutout width, the 36-inch models use 34 7/8 inches, and the 24-inch model uses 22 inches. If you are replacing a gas cooktop, plan for a 240-volt circuit: 30 amps for the 24- and 30-inch models and 40 amps for the 36-inch models.

Induction only works with magnetic cookware such as cast iron and most stainless steel. A magnet test on the bottom of your pans tells you quickly. For care tips, see our guide on how to clean an induction cooktop, and for fuel choices read gas vs induction vs dual fuel.
